Introduction

Bengaluru-based online trucking platform BlackBuck Limited has reported a strong financial turnaround in Q3 FY26, posting a profit of ₹32 crore on ₹172 crore in operating revenue. The quarter marked a significant milestone for the company as it moved from losses in the previous year to sustained profitability, driven by scale, operating leverage, and growing adoption of its digital trucking services.

Founded to organise India’s fragmented trucking ecosystem, BlackBuck has steadily evolved from a load-matching platform into a full-stack logistics and fleet-services marketplace. Its latest performance reflects how scale, product diversification, and cost discipline are beginning to converge into a profitable growth model.

Financial Performance

According to financial statements filed with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), BlackBuck’s revenue from operations grew 51% year-on-year to ₹172 crore in Q3 FY'26, compared to ₹114 crore in the same quarter last year. Including ₹16 crore in interest income, the company’s total income stood at ₹188 crore, up from ₹123 crore in Q3 FY'25.

For the nine-month period ended December 2025, BlackBuck reported revenue of ₹466.5 crore, representing a 53% increase over ₹305 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Profitability improved sharply, with the company reporting a net profit of ₹32 crore in Q3 FY'26, compared to a loss of ₹48 crore a year earlier. On a sequential basis, profit increased 10% from ₹29 crore in Q2 FY'26. EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹44.77 crore, while adjusted EBITDA was ₹50.04 crore, reflecting improving operating leverage.

From the Beginning to Now: BlackBuck’s Journey

BlackBuck was founded with the objective of digitising India’s highly fragmented trucking and freight market. In its early years, the company focused on solving basic inefficiencies such as load discovery, payment delays, and lack of transparency for truck operators.

Over time, BlackBuck expanded beyond a pure marketplace model. It began building services aimed directly at truck owners and fleet operators, gradually positioning itself as a technology-led infrastructure provider for trucking. This evolution allowed the company to deepen engagement with its user base while creating multiple monetisation avenues.

Today, BlackBuck’s business is anchored in serving truck operators through a suite of digital tools rather than just facilitating freight transactions. This shift has been central to its ability to scale revenues while improving margins.

Founders and Leadership

BlackBuck is led by Rajesh Yabaji, Co-founder and CEO, who has played a key role in shaping the company’s long-term strategy. Under his leadership, BlackBuck has transitioned from a growth-at-all-costs approach to one focused on profitability and sustainable scale.

During Q3 FY'26, Yabaji sold 20 lakh shares, representing 9.37% of his holding, in a ₹135 crore bulk deal. Following the transaction, his stake declined from 11.81% to 10.7%, out of the company’s total 18.07 crore equity shares. Despite the partial exit, management continues to signal confidence in BlackBuck’s long-term growth trajectory.

Cost Structure

On the cost side, BlackBuck reported total expenditure of ₹142 crore in Q3 FY'26, compared to ₹93 crore in Q3 FY'25.

  • Employee benefit expenses rose 16% year-on-year to ₹40.5 crore, accounting for approximately 29% of total costs.

  • Depreciation and other operating expenses formed the remaining major overheads, reflecting ongoing investments in technology, platform infrastructure, and service expansion.

While costs increased in absolute terms, margin expansion indicates better cost absorption and improving unit economics as the business scales.

Product Expansion and Market Position

BlackBuck’s revenue continues to be dominated by truck operator services, which contributed nearly 98% of operating revenue in Q3 FY'26. These services include load discovery, freight payments, telematics, and related digital tools.

Beyond its core offerings, the company has seen strong traction across newer segments:

  • Telematics recorded record product sales during the quarter.

  • Superloads, a growth category, reported over 270% year-on-year growth.

  • Vehicle finance disbursals increased 35% quarter-on-quarter, highlighting rising adoption of credit solutions among truck operators.

This diversification strengthens BlackBuck’s position as a full-stack digital platform within India’s logistics ecosystem.

Expansion and Growth Outlook

Looking ahead, BlackBuck plans to focus on expanding market share across its core trucking services while scaling growth businesses such as Superloads and vehicle finance in a calibrated manner. The company is also investing in deeper digitisation of freight through classifieds and marketplace tools.

Management has indicated that operating leverage from core businesses will be used to fund new initiatives, reducing reliance on aggressive capital deployment. With consistent revenue growth and improving profitability, BlackBuck appears well-positioned to sustain momentum through the remainder of FY'26.

Conclusion

BlackBuck’s Q3 FY'26 performance marks a clear inflection point—from a loss-making logistics startup to a profitable, scaled digital trucking platform. Strong revenue growth, expanding margins, and growing adoption across products signal increasing maturity in the company’s business model.

As India’s logistics sector continues to digitise, BlackBuck’s ability to combine scale with sustainable unit economics will be critical to its long-term success.
